INSERITO DA BARBARA PAPPACODA PARIGI. Momenti di terrore nel pomeriggio del 21 agosto su un treno ad alta velocità Thalys, in viaggio tra Amsterdam e Parigi. Un uomo armato di kalashnikov ha aperto il fuoco su alcuni passeggeri, britannici e americani: il bilancio è di tre feriti, di cui due gravi, un militare americano e un cittadino britannico, e l'attore francese Jean-Hugues Anglade. L'aggressore è stato poi arrestato.

Tutto è cominciato, secondo la ricostruzione del quotidiano locale La Voix du Nord, intorno alle 16. L'assalitore era in una toilette del treno, impegnato a caricare l'arma automatica, quando alcuni passeggeri di passaggio, militari americani, sono stati insospettiti dai rumori che produceva. Gli uomini sono riusciti a bloccarlo prima che aprisse il fuoco nello scompartimento, ma sono rimasti seriamente feriti, uno da un proiettile e l'altro da una coltellata. Nessuno dei due sarebbe però in pericolo di vita, contrariamente a quanto detto in un primo tempo da alcuni siti, ha precisato il prefetto del dipartimento del Pas-de-Calais, Fabienne Buccio.

Il treno è stato a quel punto deviato verso la stazione di Arras, nel nord della Francia, dove l'assalitore è stato arrestato. Diversi media francesi, citando fonti di polizia sul posto, parlano di un uomo di origine nordafricana, «di nazionalità o di origine marocchina» secondo la radio France Info, intorno ai 26 anni. L'uomo sembra fosse già noto ai servizi segreti. Prefetto e ministero dell'Interno hanno sottolineato a più riprese che «è troppo presto» per fare ipotesi precise sul movente, ma senza escludere la pista terroristica. «Stiamo facendo di tutto per fare chiarezza su questo dramma», ha commentato con un tweet il presidente francese Francois Hollande, esprimendo anche la sua vicinanza ai feriti.

Tra i passeggeri del convoglio c'era anche l'attore francese Jean-Hugues Anglade, oggi noto soprattutto per il ruolo del commissario Adamsberg nella serie tv dedicata ai libri della giallista Fred Vargas.

Giunto ad Arras, è stato medicato in ospedale per una lieve ferita alla mano, che si è procurato tentando di tirare il freno di sicurezza, e uno stato di choc. Gli altri viaggiatori - tra le 200 e le 300 persone in gran parte francesi, olandesi, belgi e inglesi - sono al momento ospitati in una sala messa a disposizione dal comune di Arras in una scuola nei pressi della stazione. Numerosi sono in stato di choc.
